We believe in transparency and want to ensure you have a clear understanding of what Veevo Health provides and how it works. This document outlines key disclosures regarding the use of our Service. For a comprehensive overview of your rights and obligations, please review our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
We never sell your health data
Your personal information and health data are not for sale. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. This includes your blood test results, health metrics you log, wearable data, diagnostic imaging results, and conversations with Viva, our AI health assistant. This commitment applies under all applicable laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and the Washington My Health My Data Act. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Not medical advice
Veevo Health is a wellness and educational platform, not a medical provider. The content, insights, analysis, and recommendations provided by Veevo Health, including through Viva, our AI health assistant, are for informational and educational purposes only. They are not intended to be, and should not be interpreted as, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Your use of the Veevo Health app does not create a doctor-patient relationship with Veevo.
If you use our preventive health screening services, a physician-patient relationship is established between you and the independent licensed physician (Affiliated Provider) who reviews your case — not with Veevo. Veevo facilitates access to screening services but does not practice medicine.
Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.
AI and algorithm transparency
Veevo Health uses artificial intelligence and algorithms to analyze your health data and provide personalized wellness insights. Here is how it works:
- Viva (AI health assistant): Viva is powered by third-party large language model technology provided by Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google. It uses these models along with your health context (blood test results, logged metrics, wearable data, and conversation history) to provide personalized, educational responses to your questions. When you interact with Viva, your messages and relevant health context are sent to these providers to generate responses. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes, including training their AI models. The specific models and providers may change over time as we improve the service. Viva is not a doctor and does not provide medical advice.
- Health insights and scores: We use algorithms to analyze your uploaded blood test results, self-reported data (weight, blood pressure, etc.), and connected wearable data to generate wellness insights and scores. These are educational tools, not clinical assessments.
- Limitations: AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies. Our algorithms are based on general population data and published clinical guidelines and may not account for your individual circumstances. Always verify important health information with a qualified healthcare professional.
- Continuous improvement: We use de-identified and aggregated data for research and development. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we de-identify data.
Data we collect and how it powers your insights
To provide personalized wellness insights, we collect and analyze data from several sources:
- Blood test results: Lab reports you upload are parsed and analyzed to identify biomarkers related to heart health (e.g., LDL, HDL, triglycerides, blood glucose, Lp(a), ApoB).
- Self-reported health data: Weight, blood pressure, and other metrics you manually log are used to track trends and provide context for your insights.
- Wearable and connected device data: Data from Apple Health, Google Health Connect, and other devices (e.g., heart rate, steps, activity, sleep) enriches your health profile and insights.
- AI chat data: Questions, photos, documents, and files you share with Viva are used to provide relevant, personalized responses within your conversations.
- Screening service data: If you use our preventive health screening services, your intake form information and diagnostic results (imaging reports, diagnostic imaging data) are displayed on the platform for your access and may be used by your Affiliated Provider to communicate findings and recommendations.
All data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You control what data you provide and can delete your account and data at any time.
Preventive health screening services
When you use our screening services:
- Veevo is not your healthcare provider. We facilitate access to preventive health screening (such as coronary CT angiography, coronary artery calcium scoring, and other imaging modalities) through independent licensed physicians.
- An independent Affiliated Provider reviews your health information and independently determines whether the requested screening is clinically appropriate. The provider may decline to order a service.
- All services are cash-pay. No claims are submitted to Medicare, Medicaid, or any other government healthcare program. Services may be eligible for FSA/HSA reimbursement — check with your plan administrator.
- A physician-patient relationship is established between you and the Affiliated Provider, not between you and Veevo. The provider is responsible for meeting the applicable standard of care.
- Results are reviewed by the Affiliated Provider, who communicates findings and recommendations to you.
Third-party integrations
Veevo Health integrates with third-party platforms to enhance your experience:
- Apple Health and Google Health Connect: When you connect these services, we receive health and fitness data according to the permissions you grant. You can disconnect at any time through your device or app settings.
- Cloud infrastructure: Your data is stored and processed using secure, industry-standard cloud infrastructure providers.
We do not control the privacy practices of third-party services. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies before connecting them.
No FDA evaluation
The statements made about our Service and any associated software, service, or AI models have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or any other regulatory body. Our Service is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Veevo Health is a wellness platform, not a medical device.
Service provided "AS IS"
Our Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. While we strive for the highest quality, we do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any information or insights provided. Health data analysis is complex, and results should be discussed with your healthcare provider.
Your data rights
Depending on your location, you have specific rights regarding your personal data:
- United States: General rights to access, correct, and delete your health data. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA (right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale — though we never sell your data). Washington residents have rights under the My Health My Data Act (access, delete, withdraw consent). See our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy for state-specific details.
To exercise any of your data rights, please contact us at privacy@veevo.health. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Emergency situations
Do not use our Service for urgent medical needs. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately. Do not rely on Veevo Health or Viva for emergency medical guidance.
